Every February, Copenhagen transforms from a cozy winter city into a breathtaking outdoor gallery. The Copenhagen Light Festival is now one of Europe’s most anticipated winter events, featuring world-class light installations, 3D projections, and interactive art across the city center and harbor.
Whether you are a photography enthusiast or looking for a romantic winter escape, the festival offers a unique way to see the Danish capital shine.

When and Where?
The CPH light festival runs throughout from 30 of January until 22 of February 2026. Installations are scattered along the waterfront, from Nyhavn to Reffen, and throughout the historic Indre By. Most lights are switched on from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily.
How to Best Enjoy Copenhagen Light Festival
While walking is an option, the Danish winter can be chilly, and many of the most spectacular artworks are designed to be viewed from the water to appreciate their reflections.
To avoid the crowded public harbor buses, we recommend a more intimate experience.
To truly immerse yourself in the Copenhagen Light Festival, booking a private boat tour is the ultimate way to go.
Exclusive Views: Get up close to installations that are hard to see from the shore.
Ultimate Comfort: Stay warm with blankets and enjoy the festival at your own pace.
Customized for You: Perfect for romantic dates, family gatherings, or small groups of friends up to 10!
Make your winter visit to Denmark unforgettable. Our private boats provide the perfect vantage point for the festival’s most iconic light displays.
