About the tour
Designed specifically for schools, universities, and educational groups, Raíces Argentinas is a pedagogical walking tour through Copenhagen’s historic center that explores the shared history, diplomacy, and entrepreneurial spirit between Argentina and Denmark.
Throughout the journey, students will discover the two-way migration story: from the Danish communities that settled in Argentina in the 19th century to the vibrant Argentine entrepreneurs thriving in Scandinavia today. Featuring visits to the Argentine Embassy, direct Q&A sessions with local business founders (Entre Masas, Nonna Café, and Restaurant Fuego), and stops at key landmarks like Christiansborg Palace and Nyhavn, students will analyze core concepts in economics, governance, labor markets, and urban planning through continuous cultural parallels with Buenos Aires.
Itinerary
We begin at Christiansborg Palace to explore the heart of Danish governance, comparing coalition politics with Latin American presidentialism while examining currency stability, inflation, and youth labor models. From there, we stroll down Strøget to contrast Nordic urbanism, daytime public life, and hygge with the late-night cultural energy of Buenos Aires' Avenida Corrientes.
Passing by the historic Round Tower, we stop at Nonna Café where founder Rocío shares her journey as a young expat entrepreneur building a vibrant community in Copenhagen. We then head to Entre Masas for a session with founder Lucas on adapting traditional Argentine artisan recipes to the Nordic market, complete with a delicious product tasting.
Our journey concludes at the colorful waterfront of Nyhavn, where we connect its maritime heritage to Buenos Aires' La Boca neighborhood and reflect on its iconic status, finishing with a final group photo.
