About the tour
Experience the cozy winter charm of Copenhagen as twilight falls over the capital. Starting from Matrikel1 at Højbro Plads, this guided walking tour takes you through the city's ancient core, bustling pedestrian streets, and historic academic quarter. Discover medieval squares tucked away from the main streets, admire the night-time illumination of royal landmarks, and warm up with a local drink break. The tour finishes at the famous Round Tower (Rundetårn) right as its 17th-century observatory opens for evening telescope viewing, offering a unique look at Copenhagen's night sky and skyline.
Itinerary
The tour begins at Matrikel1 (Højbro Plads 10) and moves west along Strøget to Gammel Torv. From there, it turns north into the Latin Quarter, visiting Copenhagen Cathedral, University Square, and the quiet plaza of Gråbrødretorv. The route proceeds along Fiolstræde to a nearby cafe for a warm pause. Afterwards, the walk continues north past the illuminated Rosenborg Castle and through the edge of Kongens Have (The King's Garden), heading south down Købmagergade to conclude at the Round Tower (Rundetårn) at 18:00 for evening observatory access.

Before you go
The questions travellers ask before booking.
- What happens if it is cloudy or raining? Will we still see the stars?
The tour runs rain or shine! If the sky is overcast, we still climb the Round Tower, visit the historical observatory room, and enjoy panoramic night views of Copenhagen. While stargazing through the telescope requires clear skies, the indoor historical visit and city views remain fully accessible.
- Is this tour suitable for children and accessible for strollers or wheelchairs?
Yes, it is family-friendly! The Round Tower features a wide spiral ramp instead of stairs, making it accessible for strollers. However, please note that the final narrow stairs leading directly into the observatory glass dome may require climbing on foot.
- How cold does it get, and what should I wear?
Danish winter evenings (October to March) can get very cold and windy, especially at the top of the tower. We recommend wearing warm layers, a windproof jacket, comfortable walking shoes, a warm hat, gloves, and a scarf. We’ll also have a cozy 30-minute cafe break to warm up!
- Is the hot drink during the cafe stop included in the price?
Yes! One hot beverage of your choice (such as hot coffee, tea, or hot chocolate) at our selected local venue is fully included in your tour ticket. Additional snacks or drinks can be purchased separately
